Donna teacher arrested for inappropriate contact with student

A Donna teacher is arrested for allegedly getting involved with one of his students.

Donna Independent School District initiated the investigation that led the arrest of Osbaldo Garcia.

Garcia was an ROTC instructor at Solis Middle School.

The middle school prinicpal alerted the superintendent of improper use of communication between the teacher and student via computers and text messages.

Garcia was put on administrative leave with pay on March 21.

The 61-year-old was charged with online solicitation, inappropriate relationship between an educator and a student and sexual assault of a minor.

The judge issued Garcia a total bond of $150,000 for all three charges.
