Mission fire crews responded to an explosion inside a home Friday evening.

Cpl. Manuel Casas told Action 4 News the explosion happened at about 6 p.m. on the 100 block of Mesquite Drive.

He said the homeowner left a propane tank on top of the stove.

The explosion blew a large hole on the right side of the home.

Cpl. Casas added no one was home at the time of the explosion.

Restoration crews were on site Saturday afternoon cleaning up the damage.
