At 4 p.m. on Friday,  two middle school students were hit by a car during busy McAllen traffic.

The female students attend Fossum Middle School and were struck by the vehicle near the intersection of Trenton Road and 29th Street.

They were both taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.

The parents were notified and the school principal will visit them at the hospital.

Mcallen Police Department is investigating the accident.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
