Total of 9 teens arrested in Brownsville vandalism spree

The total of teenagers arrested for a vandalism spree in northwest Brownsville has now climbed to nine.

A police car, mailboxes, fences and other property were left spray painted on the 2700 block of Laredo Road last month.

Police arrested three teens shortly after the incident but made several more arrests:

• Ashley Mari Olivarez, 18
• Giordano Culvert, 18
• Jesse Brandon Castillo, 18
• Rogelio Maldonado, 19
• Virgilio Salinas, 19
• Alejandro Guzman, 18
• Juan Pablo Leal, 18
• Crystal Ramos, 17
• Yuriana Lara, 18

Investigators told Action 4 News that police that the teens had a made a Molotov cocktail.

The teens allegedly tried to blow up a car by placing the Molotov cocktail underneath a car but it didn’t work.

According to police, the teens also planned to use a toy gun to carjack a random driver but that never happened.

A Brownsville municipal judge gave each of them $90,000 dollars in bonds.

The case remains under investigation.
