A first-grade teacher is behind bars after being accused of touching a student inappropriately.

La Joya ISD police told Action 4 News that Alberto Fuentes was arrested after a student of his at Evangelina Garza Elementary School came forward.

The female student claimed Fuentes touched her bare chest while on school grounds.

Authorities said that after a thorough investigation, they found enough evidence to support that claim and arrested Fuentes.

Fuentes was charged with indecency with a child and given a $100,000 dollar bond.
