One man is dead and another is injured following an early morning DWI wreck in Edinburg.

It is not clear where they were coming from but investigators said they found  marijuana and Xanax inside the Chevrolet Silverado.

It all happened on Mile 17 1/2 North near Sugar Road around 3 a.m. Friday when 19-year-old Andrew Cantu lost control of the truck.

“They were driving and they lost control from that hill and lost it all the way down,” said passerby Anna Arenas. “An accident here just happened four months ago from someone flying from the canal.”

Edinburg police said a total of four people were inside the truck during the single-vehicle rollover accident which killed 21-year-old Adrian Sanford and injured another passenger.

Cantu was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

“Something needs to be done before tragedy strikes near here again.” said Arenas.
