A brother and sister have been detained following a false bomb threat at Brownsville's Hanna High School.

Brownsville ISD officials said the school was placed under a soft lockdown around 9:15 a.m. Friday.

School district police determined the threat was false and lifted the lockdown at 9:40 a.m. Friday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a brother and sister have been detained for the incident.

Names of the students were not immediately available but school district officials said the brother is an adult and his sister is a minor.

Authorities searched the students' home and did not find anything.

School district officials said a letter to parents will be sent home with all Hanna students today.
