Five arrested for beating up Harlingen woman, locking her up

Three men and two women are behind bars after they allegedly beat up a woman and locked her up against her will.

Harlingen police arrested Ashley Fonseca, Nelda Ester Gonzalez, Michael Anthony Media, Bryan David Peters and Anthony Rodriguez on Thursday.

The five are accused of beating up a woman and locking her inside an officer trailer off West Monroe Avenue and North D Street around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators told Action 4 News were patrolling the area when police officers found the victim crying.

The injured woman told officers what happened and the five officers found four of the suspects in a nearby alley.

The fifth suspect was arrested off West Tyler Avenue later that evening.

All five were charged with Class A misdemeanor assault and aggravated kidnapping.

All five appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge on Friday morning where they each given $53,000 dollar bonds.
