Fatal 18-wheeler wreck reported along Starr/Zapata County line

Authorities are investigating the cause of a fatal wreck that involved an 18-wheerl along near the Starr and Zapata County lines.

It all happened on U.S. Highway 83 on Friday evening.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers are investigating the fatal accident.

State troopers confirmed that the accident involved an 18-wheeler and a car.

There is highway construction in the area but it's not clear if it played a factor in the accident.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
