A Brownsville man is behind bars after authorities found more than 282 pounds of marijuana inside his house.
Brownsville police arrested 24-year-old Gustavo Leal on a marijuana charge on Tuesday night.
Investigators told Action 4 News patrol officers were called to the 1700 block of Taft Street about a suspicious man.
Officers went to a house where the owner gave them permission to look inside his house.
The officers allegedly found eight plastic bags filled with 282.2 pounds of marijuana.
Leal approached officers and admitted that the marijuana belonged to him.
The 24-year-old man appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Wednesday morning where he was issued a $20,000 dollar bond.
