Authorities have revealed that a Los Fresnos man who got 80 years in prison for child pornography also tried to have an FBI agent killed.
Mark William Woerner appeared for sentencing before U.S. District Court Judge Hilda Tagle in Brownsville on Monday.
FBI agents original arrested Woerner back in July 2010.
A jury convicted him of five counts of child pornography during his trial back in June 2011.
The jury heard testimony that he downloaded thousands of images and dozens of videos of child pornography.
Prosecutors proved that he turned around and shared the images and got children to share them or send him more.
Testimony at Woerner’s sentencing revealed that her Los Fresnos man had asked another inmate to kill an FBI agent to prevent the agent from testifying his Woerner’s trial.
It's not clear if Woerner will face separate charges for the murder plot but Judge Tagle sentenced him to 20 years for each of the five counts but ordered that they be served consecutively.
Judge Tagle also issued a $25,000 dollar fine and pay $2,246 dollars restitution to the victims.
