A Brownsville man is behind bars after he allegedly got busted trying to deliver more than 63 pounds of marijuana.

Brownsville police arrested 23-year-old Daniel Alfaro on a felony marijuana charge late Friday afternoon.

It all happened in the parking lot of the HEB grocery store off Boca Chica Boulevard and Paredes Line Road around 3 p.m. Friday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that officers with the Special Investigations Unit caught Alfaro trying to deliver the marijuana there.

Officers found a box with 63.76 pounds of marijuana inside his car.

Authorities allegedly found another 1.34 pounds of marijuana at his house.

Alfaro appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Saturday where he was issued a $20,000 dollar bond.
