Authorities are deciding how to proceed after a Border Patrol agent failed to appear in court for an arraignment in a fatal DWI wreck.

McAllen police charged 27-year-old Adrian Parada, Jr. with intoxication manslaughter back in October.

Parada is accused of causing a three-car wreck where 21-year-old Abraham Sevilla was killed.

A Hidalgo County grand jury indicted Parada with intoxication manslaughter on December 2nd.

Parada had been out on a $75,000 dollar bond and scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Mario Ramirez with the 332nd State District Court at 8:56 a.m. Monday.

Action 4 News has learned that Parada did not appear in court, which would normally prompt an automatic failure to appear warrant for his arrest.

But court records show that Parada might not have been served or notified about the hearing and did not appear to have an attorney on file.

Court officials are checking to see if Parada knew about the indictment and the hearing.

Border Patrol officials told Action 4 News that Parada is on unpaid leave while the case moves through the court system.
