A very chilly start to Wednesday will give way to a pleasant afternoon.

Temperatures reached the upper 20’s across northern counties in the viewing area, with portions of Hidalgo and Cameron counties reaching the freezing mark for a short period of time.

The freeze warning has expired for the area, but surface high pressure settling in will allow for another night of very cold temperatures this evening.

The majority of the Valley is expected to see the 30’s for one more night, before things slowly warm to the 60’s during the day Thursday.
