Paramedics rushed an elderly bicyclist to a local hospital after she was involved in an accident with pickup truck on Tuesday morning.

It all happened near the intersection of East Harrison Avenue and 6th Street around 11:09 a.m. Tuesday.

Harlingen police said the 64-year-old woman was riding her bicycle the wrong way down East Harrison Avenue when she got hit.

Investigators said a 27-year-old woman driving a black 2011 GMC pickup truck was exiting a driveway when the woman ran her bicycle into the truck.

Paramedics rushed the elderly bicyclist to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen for treatment.

Police said the driver of the truck was not cited.
