A child in critical condition after a Saturday afternoon car accident is now reported to be in stable condition.

According to the Department of Public Safety, five children, a mom and grandmother were involved in the major car accident.

It happened on FM 493 and Mile 11 ½ outside Donna.

According to DPS, the seven were in an SUV.

The driver of the SUV reportedly tried making a U-turn and was rear-ended.

DPS said all seven were taken to Knapp Medical Center.

According to DPS, some of the children were buckled in a seat belt and some were not.

The children are said to range in age from seven months to five-years-old.

The driver who reportedly rear-ended the SUV is said to be doing okay.

No word on whether charges will be filed against the mother of the unbuckled children or the driver of the other vehicle involved.
