Man shot in head during attempted robbery

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies looked for an aggravated robbery suspect Sunday night.

They said the suspect shot a man in the head and took off.

Deputies said the suspect tried robbing a convenience store North of Weslaco on Mile 13 1/2 and FM 1015.

The suspect reportedly did not make off with anything but is said to be armed with a sawed off shot gun.

The condition of the man shot in the head is unknown at this time.
