The expressway on Cesar Chavez in San Juan is back open.

A man threatening to jump from the expressway shut it down for about an hour Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 5:30 p.m.

San Juan Police said the man was on the side of the expressway that heads East.

They said entrance and exit ramps at Cesar Chavez were closed in both directions while police spoke with the man.

Alamo Police reportedly detained the man and took him to the hospital.

No word on why he wanted to jump.
