Six people are behind bars in Brownsville where police said they fired a gun inside city limits but the story doesn’t end there.

Brownsville police told Action 4 News that they arrested five men and one woman early this morning on Western Boulevard:

• Javier Gonzalez, 36
• Luis Medrano, 25
• Basilio Gomez, 23
• Roberto Razo, 29
• Alejandro Castañon-Garcia, 21
• Alma Acosta, 24

Each of them were charged with discharging a weapon within city limits.

Investigators say it happened near a home on the 200 block of Western Boulevard.

But the investigation may not end there.

Police say the six were in a silver-colored Chevy Equinox where officers found some “suspicious” inventory inside.

While they are not disclosing what that inventory was, they say it could lead to more charges.

Brownsville police said a federal agency is now looking into this investigation.
