Despite this tough economy, it seems consumers are embracing Halloween in a big way.

This year, Americans are expected to spend billions of dollars on Halloween items.

It's the biggest number in the last 10 years.

Local halloween shops are seeing the increase too like Henry's Party Supply in Harlingen.

Whether its a costume for you, your little bears, or even your pups, they're sure to have what you're looking for.

Norma Garza is the co-owner at Henry's and told us Halloween is one of their busiest times of the year.

Proving that although the economy may be terrifying, folks aren't scared of buying costumes.

According to the National Retail Federation 43 percent of Americans plan to dress up this year and spend a whooping $2.5 billion dollars in halloween gear.

Garza said one reason may be, adults are now jumping into the action more than ever, "it's not for children anymore... it's with the whole family, and we have seen an increase in adult costumes."

She said valley people love dressing up and on average spend about 35 dollars per costume.

So whether you're looking to be a flapper, a super hero, or even SpongeBob this Halloween, be assured Henry's will have you covered!
