A Border Patrol agent has been formally charged for a McAllen DWI wreck that left one person in critical condition.
McAllen police arrested 27-year-old Border Patrol Adrian Parada, Jr. on an intoxication assault charge early Sunday morning.
Parada is accused of causing a three-car wreck off West Nolana Avenue and North 10th Street around 2:45 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators said Parada rear-ending a car waiting at a stop light.
The rear-ended car crashed into a McAllen Police Department patrol unit.
The driver of the rear-ended car remains in critical condition.
Parada appeared before a McAllen municipal judge on Monday afternoon where he was formally charged with third-degree felony intoxication assault.
The Border Patrol agent was issued a $75,000 dollar bond.
