Authorities are investigating how a $12,000 to $15,000 dollars worth of cocaine ended up inside a trashcan at South Isla Blanca Park.

It all happened early Wednesday morning.

Cameron County Pct. 1 Constable Horacio Zamora said maintenance workers made the discovery.

Constable Zamora told Action 4 News that a bundle of cocaine was found inside a trash can about 100 yards from jetties.

Deputy constables tested the bundle, which tested positive for cocaine.

Authorities believe the cocaine bundle is worth anywhere between $12,000 to $15,000 dollars on the streets.
