Mexican soldiers made an interesting discovery at a building under construction in Camargo just south of Rio Grande City.

Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) confirms that it all happened while soliders were out on patrol Thursday.

In a statement released Sunday, SEDENA officials said the soldier came across a building under construction.

Soldiers moved a platform and discovered the entrance to an underground bunker.

The soldiers found about 449 packages with more than two and half metric tons of marijuana as well as 40 weapons, 16 grenades and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

No arrests were reported but the case remains under investigation.
