A 22-year-old man is behind bars after he allegedly robbed three homes and then set them on fire.
Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 22-year-old Ruben Omar Jimenez on multiple criminal charges on Thursday.
Deputies said an investigation that led them to Jimenez, who was arrested at a friend’s house.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Jimenez lives blocks away from the other three homes he allegedly robbed and set on fire early Wednesday morning.
Deputies and officials with the Cameron County Emergency Management Office found stolen items like A/C units, a computer, a TV and other electronics inside Jimenez’s home.
The victim in one of the burglaries identified several of the stolen items.
Jimenez remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail under arson, burglary, organized crime and marijuana charges.
