Authorities are investigating the sexual assault of a female student at the PSJA North campus.

It all happened around 2 p.m. Thursday in the boys locker room, which was vacant at the time.

Both Pharr police and the PSJA Independent School District confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

School district officials said that a male student sexually assaulted a female student inside the locker room.

The school is located off Nolana Avenue just east of U.S. Highway 281.

Police Statement

The case has been turned over to the Pharr Police Department.

Police investigators told Action 4 News that 17-year-old Adrian Duron and 16-year-old male escorted a 17-year-old female into the locker room.

The girl told police that both Duron and the 16-year-old male raped her.

Both teens have been arrested and charged with sexual assault.

The 16-year-old male's name is being withheld due to state laws protecting the names of juveniles who commit crimes.

School District Statement

School district officials said the male student could be facing severe disciplinary actions.

"In addition to any criminal prosecution, any perpetrator will face severe disciplinary sanctions including long-term assignment to the Disciplinary Alternative Educational Placement Center and the permanent loss of the right to attend any regular PSJA campus," administrators said in a statement.

Police said the case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Pharr Crime Stoppers at (956) 784-TIPS or (956) 784-8477.
