The Food Patrol would have awarded all top performer stickers this week if not for the sole dirty tortilleria in Brownsville.
El Disco De Oro on 1152 Ringold scored 25 demerits on health inspection report by the city.
Inspectors found employees without hairnets, a restroom with no soap, missing towels at a hand sink and no hot water for proper sanitation.
The Food Patrol visits with kitchens who do not “keep it clean.”
Many times, the follow up is unwelcomed.
Restaurant owners and workers have done everything to try and keep the Food Patrol from reporting on what’s really going on inside the kitchen.
The Food Patrol was once locked inside a store, had a health inspection report stolen and was lied to about corrections on many occasions.
But this particular visit in Brownsville didn’t turn out that way.
In fact, it was one visit, Food Patrol fans won’t likely forget.
