Southmost man jailed for attacking man in wheelchair

A Southmost man is behind bars after he allegedly attacked a wheelchair-bound man in a domestic violence incident.

Brownsville police arrested 36-year-old Jose Guadalupe Mireles on multiple criminal charges on Tuesday night.

Investigators told Action 4 News that it al started with a 9-11 hang up call off the 5900 block of Southmost Road.

Police said Mireles tried to run over a man in a wheelchair.

The wheelchair-bound man’s son intervened for his father and stopped Mireles from getting a weapon in his car.

Mireles is facing aggravated assault, assault family violence and terroristic threat charges.
