As the families of two Rio Grande Valley soldiers cope with the loss of their loved ones, a local group is taking action to support them.

America's Last Patrol is setting up a donation drive at Weslaco City Hall to receive donations for the families of Army Sgt. Estevan Altamirano of Edcouch who was killed in Iraq and Sgt. Rodolfo Rodriguez Junior of Weslaco, who was killed in Afghanistan.

Organizers are accepting money, food, water and even hotel rooms, to help relatives of the soldiers in this difficult time.

"Its one of the hardest things you can ever do is having to go through losing a loved one especially in times of war. So, what we ask is please have some consideration and please donate," said Commander Ruben Cordova or America's Last Patrol.

Those wishing to donate can bring their donations to Weslaco City Hall beginning Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Everything collected will be split evenly between the Altamirano and Rodriguez families.

For more information call America's Last Patrol at (956) 756-4695.
