A man is dead and two others are injured following an explosion at a gas well in Kenedy County.

It all happened at the Santa Berta Ranch about 14 miles north of Raymondville around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Willacy county Emergency Management coordinator Frank Torres told Action 4 News that the accident happened on a private ranch.

According to Torres, technicians with a gas company were working on a well head, when it exploded.

Torres confirms at least one person was killed, two others were injured.

At this time, gas is still leaking from the gas well and the gas company has activated its emergency response team.

Torres says their main concern is that a second blast could follow.
