Three arrested during 8-liner raid in Olmito

Three people are expected to be arraigned on gambling charges following a raid at an 8-liner arcade in Olmito.

Cameron Cunty Sheriff's Department deputies raided an arcade off FM 511 and U.S. Expressway 77/83 on Wednesday evening.

The arcade was located in a building that used to be Los Camperos Restaurant.

Sheriff Omar Lucio told Action 4 News that deputies seized 49 gambling machines.

Deputies allege that the arcade was making illegal cash payouts to customers.

Sheriff Lucio said they had received calls of some people complaining that they lost a lot of money, including some who had received recent payments Social Security payments.

Deputies started investigating and found out that certain individuals were committing gambling violations.

The three suspects arrsted were identifed as:

• Emilio  Sandoval, 29 years old, Los Fresnos
• Hugo Alberto Cervantes, 40 Years Old, Rancho Viejo
• Edgar Moreno, 32 years old, Brownsville

The three were charged with engaging in criminal activity, gambling promotion and possession of gambling devices
