Two Brownsville teens are now charged with the shooting death of a friend and are behind bars under $1 million dollar bonds.
Brownsville police arrested 17-year-old Roberto Ortega and 17-year-old Eric Hernandez for the death of their friend Jose Francisco Araujo.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the pair shot 17-year-old Araujo.
The teen's family reported him missing and discovered his body in a wooded area off Wild Rose Lane on Sunday.
Police believe Ortega was the shooter but a motive remains unclear.
Investigators told Action 4 News that they are investigating all possibilities, including one that the shooting may have been connected to Mexican drug cartels.
Each teen appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Tuesday where they were each given a $1 million dollar bonds.
Police said the two teens arrested are cooperating and that the investigation is still ongoing.
