The Food Patrol exposed continued health code violations at Taqueria La Deligencia in Alamo.
The restaurant on 302 South Alamo Road scored 26 demerits on a health report.
Violations listed during the inspection included: no soap, towels or hairnets, a box of meat on the floor in the freezer and foods not properly labeled.
The Food Patrol checked on the so-called corrections.
Hector Hernandez, who’s the head cook, said workers were now following county rules on proper hygiene practices.
The Food Patrol was granted access into the kitchen to check if those claims made by Hernandez were true.
It didn’t take long for stunning discoveries to be made.
The Food Patrol found thawing meat in a sink that was labeled for use as only a hand-washing station.
There was also no soap or paper towels in dispensers by that same sink.
Hernandez was also caught drying his hands on his work clothing.
