This week State Rep. J.M. Lozano expressed his desire for the federal government to reinstate a “Bracero” program.
It’s a guest worker program that would allow people from other countries to work in the United States as temporary contract laborers.
Lozano spoke at the Texas Legislative Luncheon in Rancho Viejo, citing his own family's experience with the program.
Lozano said his grandfather’s work through a Bracero program helped Lozano himself to become a Texas lawmaker and business owner.
