Action 4 News has learned that a Alamo girl featured in the new back in April has taken a turn for the worse.
Doctors have told the family of 4-year-old Adriana De Leon that she may not have much time to live.
A tumor was detected in Adriana’s brain in July 2010.
The 4-year-old Alamo girl has had surgery and chemotherapy but doctors have now detected an infection in her blood.
Doctors told the family that the kind of cancer the girl has is very aggressive and that her immune system is low.
The hospital refused to release her to go home to her small tattered trailer.
Donations from Action 4 News viewers helped her family pay for gas to get them to and from the hospital.
But now, Adrian is in need of prayers.
"We're praying for the family and we hope for the best for them,” said Leonel Lopez, Jr. with the non-profit group tge Advocacy Resource Center for Housing, or ARCH.
While Adriana fights to battle her brain cancer, ARCH has stepped in helping her family.
Lopez said the group is paying rent for a three-bedroom home, so that they can save money to pay for their own new trailer but first they need to overcome this obstacle in life.
ARCH has been in close contact with the family.
They said they have been by Adriana’s side while doctors say it doesn't look good for the young Alamo girl.
ARCH has set up an account for the De Leon family.
