A Hidalgo County native who was on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender's List has been captured in San Antonio.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that 35-year-old Antonio Garcia was arrested at a carwash off 1248 S. Saint Mary’s Street on Monday.

DPS officials reported that Garcia served time in prison for the brutal kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Harris County back in1993.

Labeled as a high-risk sex offender, Garcia failed to comply with registration requirements and disappeared back in 2007.

DPS officials reported that Garcia was last seen in Houston but is a native of Hidalgo County.

A $6,000 dollar reward was offered for Garcia’s capture.
