Fire reported at shrimp boat at Port of Brownsville

Authorities are investigating the cause of a Monday afternoon fire at a shrimp boat at the Port of Brownsville.

It all happened in the shrimp basin area of the port around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators said the fire was contained to the boat.

Authorities told Action 4 News that the boat was abandoned.

Firefighters are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
