The discovery of seven new graves has increased the body count in San Fernando, Tamaulipas to 193 bodies.

Mexico’s Attorney General Marisela Morales made the announcement at breakfast meeting in Mexico City on Tuesday morning.

The El Universal newspaper reported that Morales told reporters about the discovery of seven new graves during the meeting.

Morales told El Universal and other media outlets present that the body count is now 193 bodies found in and around San Fernando.

El Universal reported that authorities have executed 85 arrests warrants against suspects named in the case.

Most of the victims are believed to have been kidnapped and murdered by gunmen who hijacked passengers buses passing through San Fernando.

Morales told reporters that only 12 bodies have been identified and returned to family members in the San Fernando case.
