Authorities are asking for the public’s help in a Hidalgo County native listed as one of the Lone Star State’s Top Ten Most Wanted Sex Offenders.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public’s help in finding 35-year-old Antonio Garcia.

DPS officials reported that served time in prison for the brutal kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Harris County back in1993.

Labeled as a high-risk sex offender, Garcia failed to comply with registration requirements and disappeared back in 2007.

DPS officials reported that Garcia was last seen in Houston but is a native of Hidalgo County.

A $6,000 dollar reward is being offered for Garcia’s capture.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 252-TIPS or (800) 252-8477.
