Border Patrol agent injured in crash near La Joya

A Border Patrol agent is recovering back home after getting injured in an auto accident near La Joya on Monday night.

U.S. Border Patrol spokeswoman Rosie Huey confirmed that the agent was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident.

Huey reported that accident happened near the Military Highway and Vela Jackson Avenue, next to Walker Lake.

Investigators said the terrain is rough and believe the agent lost control of unit.

The Border Patrol agen't name was not released.

Huey reported that the agent was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then released.
