A Brownsville man is behind bars after he allegedly kidnapped his pregnant girlfriend.

Brownsville police arrested 21-year-old Isaac Villarreal on a kidnapping charge on Thursday afternoon.

Villarreal is accused of abducting his pregnant, 19-year-old girlfriend Joanna Hererra on Tuesday.

The kidnapping happened on East Jackson Avenue one block away from the Brownsville Police Department.

Hererra was located safe and sound about two hours later but authorities issued a warrant for Villarreal's arrest.

Villarreal appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Friday morning where he was issued a $10,000 dollar bond.
