Forget about lifting weights at the gym, now you can ditch the work out and join the party with Zumba.

Maria Buhtoyarov teaches a Zumba class at Fitness Zone in Harlingen and said, “you will see how your body will change...you will feel that you’re full of energy... you want to do more exercise...more dance.”

Maria told Action 4 that Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance program that blends catchy music with contagious dance steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive.

“This is great combination to make your body look great, burn calories and have some fun,” said Buhtoyarov.

According to Buhtoyarov the workout quickly gets your heart rate up and added a 45 minute session can burn up to one thousand calories.

The fitness instructor said this fitness craze is not just for the young in age but the young at heart.

“People that already with age that have some kind of surgeries and they tell that they want to have this kind of exercise but sometimes they fell that they cannot do it...But the come to my class they enjoy it."

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba raises the bar, Buhtoyarov said it works out almost every single muscle in your body.

So if shaking it appeals to you, Buhtoyarov recommends to bring your body and join the Zumba party.
