Brownsville Indepdendent School District superintendent Brett Springston is interviewing for job in Hunstville, Alabama.

The Hunstville Times reported on its on-line edition on Friday morning that Springston is the fourth of seven candidates interviewing for the jobs as Huntsville superintendent.

The Times reported that the two-hour interview was held in public and started at 8 a.m. Friday.

According to the Hunstville Times, the school district has 46 schools and 23,000 students compared to a 49,880 students and 56 schools at Brownsville ISD.

The Times reported that Springston touted his accomplishments at Brownsville ISD during his interview.

When asked if moving to the Huntsville school system might mean a pay cut, the Huntsville Times reported that Springston said he is not looking for money.

"We're CEOs," the Huntsville Times quoted Springston as saying. "We're making decisions about our children. We're making decisions about our budgets. When you do these things, you're cutting into people's lives."

Action 4 News reached out to Springston's office for comment but has not received a reply.
