Winds and weather have created power outages on both sides of the border.

Dust and sand accumulating in utility poles has created short circuits.

Numerous reports were been reported across the entire Rio Grande Valley over the weekend.

As of 1 p.m. Monday,  AEP reports there were only about 106 customers without power in Cameron County.

There were no reports of power failures in Hidalgo, Willacy and Starr Counties.

Meanwhile, officials south of the border are reporting millions of dolalrs in losses following widespread power failures.

Power service has been interrupted at least two times in Matamoros, Valle Hermoso, Reynosa and Rio Bravo early Monday earning.

Authorities said power has been restored but are blaming the power failures on damage at a power station in Rio Bravo.
