Hang on to your hats!

Steady strong winds will hit the lower and mid Valley through Good Friday.

Sustained wind speeds are forecast to reach between 25-35 miles per hour.

Wind gusts are likely to reach above the 40 mile per hour mark.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for Cameron, Willacy and Kennedy counties.

With dry grass abundant thanks to the lack of rainfall this season combined with these winds, an increased risk of wildfires remains.

Cameron, Hidalgo and Starr counties are all under a burn ban.

A cold front moving through north parts of Texas will interact with high pressure east of the Valley to reinforce the seemingly non-stop breeze.
