Hidalgo County cold case suspect arrested in Mexico

A suspect in a cold case from Hidalgo County is expected to be extradited after being arrested south of the border in Nuevo Leon.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño reported that 37-year-old Eduardo Leme de Oliveira was arrested in Sonora, Nuevo Leon back on March 10th.

Sheriff Treviño said De Oliveira is a suspect in the October 12, 2008 murder of Juan Antonio Morales.

Investigators reported that De Oliveira is a Brazilian national.

Sheriff Treviño said De Oliveira is expected to be brought back to face justice in Hidalgo County today.
