Mexican authorities are confirming simultaneous grenade attacks on police south of the border in Ciudad Victoria and Ciudad Mante on Sunday evening.

Ciudad Mante officials confirmed on their official Twitter account that the attack took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officials reported that an explosive device was thrown at the city's traffic police building.

No injuries were reported but city officials told Action 4 News that there were damages.

The El Universal newspaper reported that one officer was hurt during a similar attack on police in Ciudad Victoria.

The newspaper reported that a grenade or some kind of other explosive device was also thrown at a traffic police building there.
