A Laguna Heights man is behind bars after he allegedly used his pickup truck to pin his wife and 2-year-old son against a fence.
Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 26-year-old Jorge Garcia-Rivera on multiple criminal charges over the weekend.
Court records released on Monday show that Garcia-Rivera got into an argument with his wife off Washington Avenue on Friday evening.
A motive wasn't clear but deputies reported that Garcia-Rivera responded by driving his truck and pinning his wife and 2-year-old song against a fence.
Garcia-Rivera allegedly punched a sheriff's department sergeant who tried to arrest him.
The 26-year-old domestic violence suspect is facing aggravated assault family violence, child endangerment, assault of a public servant and resisting arrest charges.
Garcia-Rivera appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Patricia Edelstein on Saturday morning where he was issued $98,000 dollars in bonds.
Jail records show that Garcia-Rivera also has an immigration detainer filed against him.
