Twelve members of the Tri-City Bombers gang are behind bars after being indicted on for trafficking mass quantities of cocaine and ecstasy.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office reported that a federal grand jury in Houston handed down a multiple-count indictment against 13 members of the gang last week.
The 13 people are accused of running a profitable drug empire between April 2008 through February 2011.
Five suspects were already in custody on unrelated state charges but teams led by the FBI fanned across the Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday morning yielding seven arrests.
The 12 arrested suspects were identified as:
• Jeffrey Juarez, (aka “Dragon” or “Tira”) – 35 of Sugar Land
• Rogelio Loera, (aka “Lolo”) – 33 years old of McAllen
• Joe Lee Gonzalez, aka “Jojo”, 33 years old of San Juan
• Eric Ruiz - years old of Pharr
• Rolando Flores (aka “6-4”) - years old of Pharr
• Julio Cisneros (aka “Grouch”) – 32 years old of Alamo
• Jose Garza (aka “Psycho”) – 33 years old of Alamo
• John Rosas III (aka “Popcorn”) – 34 years old of Pharr
• Daniel Cuellar - 35 years old of Brownsville
• Rene Cuellar (aka “Chito”) – 29 years old of Donna
• Guadalupe Pina (aka “Lupillo”) – 22 years old of Donna
• David Connelly – 28 years old of Mission
The 13th suspect, Fidel Cuellar (aka “Fido), remains at large in the case.
The seven suspects arrested today in the Valley are expected to appear before a federal judge in McAllen on Thursday.
If convicted of conspiracy charges, the men could 10 years to life in prison and up to a $4 million dollar fine.
