At least six gunmen are dead in a series of armed clashes in Valle Hermoso and other Mexican border cities over the weekend.
Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) confirmed the battles in a statement released Monday evening.
SEDENA officials reported that soldiers got into a firefight with armed men in the border town of Ciudad Mier on Sunday.
Three gunmen were killed in the battle.
Soldiers reported killed another three gunmen in a separate battle that same day in Rio Bravo.

No casualties were reported in Valle Hermoso but soldiers reported seizing ammunition and four cars. One of them had been reported stolen.
