A Brownsville teenager has pleaded 'not guilty' to the murder of his ex-girlfriend Tiffany Galvan.
Javier de la Rosa appeared before Judge Benjamin Euresti with the 107th State District Court for an arraignment on Monday morning.
A Cameron County grand jury indicted 16-year-old De la Rosa on capital murder charges.
The 16-year-old is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death at Benavides Park near Browne Road in Brownsville.
A passerby found Tiffany's body back in August.
The 16-year-old will stand trial as an adult.
He's being held at the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito.
De la Rosa played for the Lopez High School football team but his ex-girlfriend Tiffany Galvan was a student at Los Fresnos High School.
A motive in the murder was not clear but investigators said the two met on an on-line social media network.
